Fast internet in the village, paid in kina.
Konekt is the app behind Blockchain Melanesia's community hotspots. Find the nearest Starlink kiosk, buy a Wi-Fi bundle in seconds, top up your BM Wallet with cash at a local Konekt agent, and send a bundle to a wantok who needs it.
Sign in with your PNG phone number — a one-time code arrives on WhatsApp, or by SMS if WhatsApp cannot reach you. No password, no app store.
Everything a village needs to get online and stay online.
Bundles by the hour, day or week
Pick a bundle, pay, and the hotspot lets your phone straight on. Each bundle is time and data — whichever runs out first ends it, so you always know what you paid for.
Find the nearest kiosk
See which Konekt hotspots are live around you, which are coming, and their opening hours. The kiosks run on solar and Starlink, so they work where no tower reaches.
Gift a bundle, or what is left of one
Buy a voucher for someone else and it lands in their Konekt account by phone number. A student, a relative in the village, a health worker on shift. Both of you get a message so nobody has to ring to check it arrived. Already started using yours? Gift the rest: the app shows about how many kina, how much data and how much time are left, and your wantok can use it at any Konekt kiosk in PNG.
Konekt tells you before it stops
A message comes while you can still use the bundle — the last five minutes, or the last tenth of the data — and again when it is finished, so you can buy the next one before you are cut off. Messages wait for you in the app and come on WhatsApp too.
See where it went
Open any bundle you have used and Konekt shows what is left and which hotspots it was used at, with the data used at each one. Useful if you share a phone, or if you gave the bundle to someone else.
Top up your way
Pay for Wi-Fi with BSP Pay or a Visa card. Top up your BM Wallet with cash at a Konekt agent (in a supervised testing phase), or from any bank with Blockchain Melanesia's biller code, coming soon. Your BM Wallet works in every BM app, not just Konekt.
Earn as a Konekt agent
Run the hotspot for your community: sell vouchers at a margin, cash people in, and get paid through BM Pay. At a hired or owned kiosk you also earn 15% of vouchers bought online and used there, paid weekly into your BM Wallet. Two wantoks vouch for you and you are in.
Rent a Starlink kit
Need connectivity for a clinic, school or project? Ask for a quote on an ARNI™ mobile unit straight from the app and the team calls you back.
Hire or own a village kiosk
Hire a Village Fast Internet Kiosk with a K25,000 deposit and pay the rest from its own voucher sales, or buy it outright for K100,000. Once it is yours you earn 60% of every voucher used at it, paid weekly into your BM Wallet — track it all under My kiosk.

One BM ID, one wallet, one set of rails.
Konekt shares its login, wallet and payments with every Blockchain Melanesia app, so the kina you top up here can pay a school fee in SkulFi or a dinau in Dinau Buk tomorrow.
- Blockchain Melanesia is working with the Bank of Papua New Guinea to secure its e-money licence for the BM wallet.
- Payments run through BM Pay on BSP Pay: CIF and mobile OTP, no card details typed into a phone.
- Only vouchers bought through Konekt work at a BM hotspot.
- A voucher code is money, so Konekt never puts one in a WhatsApp message or an SMS — the code only ever appears in the app, to the person who owns the bundle.
- Your phone number is your ID. Codes are one-time and expire; nobody at BM can see your balance without you asking.
- Works on cheap Android phones over a slow connection — the app is a light web page, English and Tok Pisin.
Askim na bekim
The things people ask before they try it.
How much does a bundle cost?
Bundles start at a few kina for an hour and go up to week passes. Prices are set per hotspot and shown in the app before you pay — promotions and agent discounts are applied automatically.
Do I need data to buy a bundle?
You need a moment of connectivity to sign in and pay: the hotspot lets you reach Konekt and BM Pay before you buy, so you can get a bundle right there.
What if my voucher runs out early?
Every bundle is time and data. If you stream video, the data runs out before the time does. The app shows both, Konekt messages you before the last five minutes or the last tenth of the data, and a new bundle starts the moment you buy it.
Will I know before I am cut off?
Yes. Konekt sends the warning while you are still online, so you have a moment to buy the next bundle, and sends another message when the bundle is finished. The messages are in the app under Messages — they are there next time you get on, even if WhatsApp could not reach you while you were offline.
Can I see where my bundle was used?
Yes. Open the bundle in the app and Konekt lists every hotspot it was used at and the data used at each one, with the time and data still left. Only you (and BM staff looking into a problem) can see it.
Can I pay cash?
Yes — every hotspot has a Konekt agent who can cash you in. The agent sells at the same price you see in the app.
How do I become an agent?
Apply in the app. Two wantoks who already use Konekt confirm you, BM approves, and you get agent pricing and a stock of vouchers to sell.
Can I give away what is left of a bundle I have already started?
Yes. Open it in My Vouchers and tap Gift the rest. The app shows about how many kina are left, the data and the time, and when it ends. Your wantok gets a new voucher with exactly what is left and the same end time, and can use it at any Konekt kiosk. Your old code stops working and your phone is disconnected within about a minute. A bundle that has been started can be gifted twice, so it can be passed on once more, and there needs to be at least K1 and 30 minutes left.
Is the gifted code sent to my wantok in a message?
No. A voucher code is like cash, so the new code only ever appears inside your wantok's own Konekt app, after they sign in. The messages tell them it is there.
Can our community own a kiosk?
Yes. Buy one outright for K100,000, or hire it with a K25,000 deposit and 40% of its voucher sales until the rest is paid. Once it is yours you earn 60% of every voucher used at it. See the village hub for the numbers.
